The aim is to assess the implementation of the planning documents potential impact on the environment and involve the public in the consultation document and the decision-making, as well as develop proposals to eliminate or reduce potential negative impacts.

Strategic Impact Assessment will be required for planning documents whose implementation can significantly affect human health and environment, as well as planning documents related to regional development, land use, territorial planning and spatial plans which are using European Union funding
