Personal protective equipment
Personal protective equipment (PPE) means devices, products, equipment, and systems which employee wearing or otherwise using at the work to protect their health from one or more risk factor exposure.
Personal protective equipment can be designed not only for domestic use, recreation or sport, but for many other purposes.
Latvian market offered by PPE must meet the requirements of 11/02/2003. issued Ministers Cabinet 74 regulation "Requirements for personal protective equipment, the conformity assessment procedures and market surveillance" (the Cabinet of Ministers Regulation), developed in accordance with European Union Directive 89/686 ECC.
Cabinet rules on the responsibility of PPE manufacturer or importer / supplier.
All offered PPE in market must be CE mark. CE marking confirms the product complies with EU directives and harmonized standards. The mark must be easily visible and legible.
